1. Who We Are

Build Guild LLC (“Build Guild”, “we”, “us”) operates the Build Guild platform at buildguildclub.com. We provide BMW performance build planning tools, community features, and AI-assisted build guidance. Questions about this policy can be directed to info@buildguildclub.com.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to operate the platform:

• Account information: Username, email address, and hashed password when you create an account.
• OAuth data: If you sign in with Google, we receive your Google-provided email and display name. We do not receive your Google password.
• Community content: Build logs, posts, comments, and votes you submit to the community section.
• Planner data: Build configurations you save in the Planner tool, stored to your account.
• Usage data: Standard server logs including IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps. This data is used for security and platform improvement only.
• Communications preferences: Whether you opted in to email notifications.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To operate your account and authenticate your sessions
• To save and display your build plans and community contributions
• To send account-related emails: password resets, security alerts, and account confirmations
• To send platform update and feature notifications, only if you opted in
• To detect and prevent abuse, fraud, or violations of our Terms of Service
• To improve and develop the platform using aggregated, anonymized usage patterns

4. Information We Do Not Sell or Share

We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes — period. We do not use advertising networks. We do not run third-party tracking pixels on the platform.

We may share information only in the following limited circumstances:

• With infrastructure providers (hosting, database) who process data solely on our behalf under data processing agreements
• When required by law, court order, or government authority
• To protect the safety, rights, or property of Build Guild, our users, or the public

5. Payment Processing

Pro and VIP memberships are processed through Stripe. When you subscribe, your payment card information is entered directly into Stripe's secure payment form — Build Guild never sees, receives, or stores your card number, CVV, or billing details. 6. Cookies & Local Storage

We use a single session cookie to maintain your authenticated session. This cookie is essential for platform operation and cannot be opted out of while signed in. We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking cookies, or analytics cookies from third-party services.

Some preferences (such as UI state) may be stored in your browser's localStorage. This data never leaves your device.

7. AI Features & Data

Guild AI (Pro and VIP tiers) processes the build information you provide within your session to generate recommendations. Conversation inputs may be transmitted to AI infrastructure to generate responses. We do not use your AI conversation data to train models. We do not store AI conversation history beyond your active session unless you explicitly save a build generated by the AI.

8. Data Retention

Your account data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal information (email, password) is removed within 30 days. Community content (posts, comments) may remain visible in anonymized form unless you request removal.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Opt out of non-essential communications at any time
• Data portability (export of your build plans and account data)

10. Security

Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms before storage — we cannot see your password. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. We apply access controls, audit logging, and regular security reviews to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure; in the event of a breach affecting your personal data, we will notify affected users as required by applicable law.

11. Children

Build Guild is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the platform evolves. Material changes will be announced via platform notification or email (if you're opted in). Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
